About Nicole Sanchez
Emmy®-award winning journalist Nicole Sanchez has worked in television for more than 25 years. She is an expert storyteller, especially when it comes to corporate and fundraising videos. Clients appreciate her ability to connect with them and guide them through the storytelling process to bring their message to life through video.
Nicole was recently elected to serve on the Executive Committee as Vice Chair of the newly formed Chapter Council for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Nicole has also served as President and a National Trustee for the Northwest Chapter of NATAS. She headed up a special volunteer project and produced a special series called Trailblazers in Diversity for the 2023 Regional Emmy® Awards Show which highlighted television professionals who faced and overcame obstacles from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Alaska. This series was so well received, Nicole led the team and expanded the all volunteer project called Northwest Television Trailblazers in Diversity. She produced and hosted the hour long talk show which aired on more than 28 stations and won several awards.
Nicole also organized the first NATAS NW Storyteller Workshop in the fall of 2023 at Boise State University, which featured more than 30 speakers from across the Northwest who taught a dozen workshops. She is currently working with Gonzaga University to plan a second storyteller workshop for fall of 2025.
Nicole is a managing producer for London-based WebsEdge and has worked for them since 2009. She has produced more than 100 short documentaries across the US and Canada worth more than two and a half million dollars. She also anchors for WebsEdge at conferences on a wide range of topics including health, science, government, and education. Some of the projects she has managed include films on the FDA, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Pacific Disaster Center in Maui and several National Labs.
Nicole also works as a host & producer for CityStream on the Seattle Channel. She has received a dozen awards, including an Emmy® award and several nominations during her 13+ years with the newsmagazine style show.
Nicole has hosted and produced documentaries for Idaho Public Television. She has produced several resilience themed programs for the station including Raising Resilient Kids: Mental Health Matters which is a helpful talk show on how to talk with young people about mental health. This program received an Emmy nomination, a Platinum award at the Houston International Film Festival and it also received a 2nd place award at the Idaho Press Club.
Nicole was also honored to be the Co-Producer/Writer/Narrator for an hour long documentary called Resilient Idaho: Hope Lives Here. This video explores Adverse Childhood Experiences and the lifelong trauma that can result if ACEs are untreated or unresolved. This powerful story focuses heavily on resilience and was produced through her work with Idaho Public Television. The documentary was re-branded for national distribution under the name Resilience: Hope Lives Here and was made available to all PBS stations, airing in more than 120 markets. This documentary received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, a regional Emmy nomination, an Idaho Press Club Award, a Pinwheel Award, and placed at the Platinum level in the Health and Wellness category at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.
Nicole spent the first part of her career reporting and anchoring in newsrooms like Q13 FOX News, KOMO ABC 4 and KIMA-TV in Yakima. She also was the Producer & Host of the “Shine a Light” award program for Idaho News 6 (ABC) for more than four years. This was a monthly segment spotlighting people and businesses making a difference in the community. Nicole also worked for the Outdoor Channel and was part of television special on an international fishing competition in Maui.
Nicole graduated with honors with a degree in Communications and a minor in Political Science from Washington State University in 1999. She regularly teaches workshops at the Murrow Symposium including the On-Air Talent and News Writing Workshops.
Nicole is a people-person and has a can-do attitude. She has a large network of veteran TV photographers and editors she works with across the country who share her passion for telling meaningful stories.
